Our senior class is something special!
Our students work hard at their learning, provide leadership throughout the school with their example in kapa haka, their attitude to learning, their willingness to engage in tuakana teina learning with younger students and their maturity and responsibility.
Our classroom is attractive and inviting, and includes a full kitchen and senior bathroom. Our senior students organise our daily breakfast programme, lunch orders as well as games at morning tea and lunch time.
Our school provides some unique experiences including ski camp, summer camps, water skiing and boxing. We also have the opportunity to play netball and basketball in the winter and touch in the summer.
Our kaiako is Wharekahika Clarke. He’s an enthusiastic and hard-working young teacher with exceptional music and kapa haka skills. He is also fluent in te Reo Māori. These skills are important to us at Horohoro School as we put a high value on the importance of all things Māori in our school which is seen in our daily te reo practice and quality kapa haka performances.
